I first met Sylvia with her husband David at the office of Halesworth Area Community Transport Ltd about fifteen years ago.  With her full support David was doing his best to keep our Volunteer Transport running, and most times when David was driving Sylvia was there in the passenger seat to greet fellow travellers and give them reason to smile.

She gave encouragement to all our Volunteers and remained steadfast in her support for HACT throughout her own times of trouble, enabling David to manage the improvement of our services so we now have three good buses and offer many forms of local groups the chance to beat rural isolation and travel to places they may never otherwise have visited.

David and Sylvia shared their lives with so many people but Sylvia's pride was with her children and grandchildren regularly updating me with their achievements and enjoying their visits.
